Re-Sit: 3D printed using plastic waste
Re-Sit is a couch with a story, an honest story. A circular sofa made from recycled raw materials. And you get a 50 euro deposit on return! But above all, Re-Sit has a beautiful, elegant style with a unique design. In a pastoral environment, its forms integrate organically with the natural surroundings. In the city, it complements the geometric language of form and makes a statement: nature is right here.

The Re-Sit is made of 100% recycled plastic. We use a unique mix of consumer (e.g. yoghurt containers) and industrial plastic waste. That means we can make the best use of available materials and we don’t have to add anything!
When its lifespan ends, your couch is still worth money. Because if you return the Re-Sit back to us, you’ll get €50 in return. And we’ll process your couch in newly 3D printed products. All of the steps are outlined in a material passport. This makes everything clear and traceable.
The shape of the couch makes for a lovely seat. And to ensure you’ll enjoy it for years, we made the Re-sit out of incredibly strong polypropylene. The couch never needs to be painted, making it completely maintenance free.
Caring about the environment is at the heart of the Re-Sit production process: we work with recycled plastic, produce locally in the Netherlands, and take back your bench in exchange for a deposit. But what does that actually yield?
All environmental impacts that occur during the life cycle of a product can be summed up in a score: the Environmental Cost Indicator (ECI). And what does it show? The ECI of a comparable product is much higher (up to 15 euros) than the ECI of the Re-Sit! And the price of the Re-Sit remains the same: sustainable products don’t have to be more expensive at all!
Lowest Environmental Costs
1. Permanent
Think forest or dunes, looking out over the water, your permanent spot in the holiday park. Enjoy a long bike ride and then relax on your favorite couch. The in-ground base provides stability, so no concrete is needed.
2. Movable
Enjoy the sun in your garden, together with friends and family. With the Re-Sit, you can have a great time lounging with a delicious drink. Or use it as a bench by the garden table. No matter how you use the Re-Sit, it’s an asset to your garden!
10XL is a startup specialised in large-format 3D printing using recycled plastic. And large also means really large; the maximum dimensions are 6 × 2 × 1.5 meters. By using robot arms, we can make complex organic shapes. We make single pieces, but we really prefer to make larger series of functional products. We ‘source’ the recycled raw materials from suppliers, collectors, customers, and partners. We always keep our mission in mind: making cradle to cradle products accessible to everyone, anytime and anywhere!
